News: McDonald’s Shamrock Shake is Back

McDonald's Shamrock ShakeMcDonald’s has issued the seasonal return of their Shamrock Shake. The Shamrock Shake is a bright green, St. Patrick’s Day inspired shake that tastes like mint. The shake takes McDonald’s vanilla shake and mixes in a greener than green mint syrup. The shake is topped with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry. I find it rather strange that a fast food restaurant would release a St. Patrick’s Day themed item, but I suppose stranger things have been done by McDonald’s (McSpaghetti).

The Shamrock Shake isn’t exactly a new item. It made its debut in the 1970’s, but it was discontinued for a many years until McDonald’s brought it back nationwide for the first time last year.

The Shamrock shake is available in three sizes: a small 12 oz, a regular 16 oz, and a you’ll-hate-yourself-after-drinking-the-whole-thing large 22 oz. The Shamrock Shake is limited time only, but you can bet your lucky shamrocks it’ll be back next year.

Be sure to check out our review of the Shamrock Shake.
