Review: Wendy’s Mozzarella Chicken Supreme Sandwich

Wendy’s has a new sandwich on their menu, the Mozzarella Chicken Supreme Sandwich. Just kidding, the sandwich has been off and on the menu several times, with large gaps in between it’s appearances, but it’s back! I picked one of these up from my local Wendy’s for the price of $5.29.

The Wendy’s Mozzarella Chicken Supreme Sandwich takes your standard Wendy’s crispy chicken filet, and sandwiches that sucker right between two slices of mozzarella cheese, then tops that with a delicious, juicy red tomato and some fresh green lettuce, very nice! But they don’t stop there, oh no, they then drown that mo’fo with this amazingly creamy and dreamy Parmesan sauce! Yummy!

How Does it Taste?
I have always loved Wendy’s chicken sandwiches. The fillet of chicken that they use is always very tender and juicy. I always know I’m getting a premium slab of chicken at Wendy’s. Upon feasting on the sandwich, my taste buds were bombarded with this very tasty Parmesan sauce. But as I chomped deeper and deeper into the Mozzarella Chicken Supreme sandwich, I kept looking for the mozzarella cheese. Visibly it was there, but taste wise, well… nope. I understand that mozzarella cheese is quite a mild cheese, but with two slices of it, I expected to at least be able to detect it. I partially blame the sauce for this. The sauce dominated the whole sandwich. They should have named this the Parmesan Chicken Sandwich. Oh well. I’m not complaining too much, the sauce was quite delicious!

Look at all that awesomesauce!

Summary:

While I was disappointed with the incredibly mild cheese, the rest of the sandwich was top notch. The chicken was delicious as always, the vegetables were fresh tasting, and the sauce was downright delicious! I really love this sandwich! Get it while you still can, the Mozzarella Chicken Supreme Sandwich probably won’t be back for a few years!

  1. Damn, I never realized how gross this sandwich was until I checked on Wendy’s website for the ingredients. It seems like they use 100 more ingredients that I would use to make this at home. The amount of hidden MSG ingredients and oils high in Omega 6’s (which aren’t good for you if they’re predominant over 3’s) which are also likely genetically engineered, corn, soy, high fructose corn syrup, more corn maltodextrin, there’s even an ingredient used in rubbery substances (azodicarbonamide) in the bun.
