Review: Quiznos Lobster and Seafood Salad Sub

Quiznos Lobster and Seafood Salad SubQuiznos has brought back their Lobster and Seafood Salad Sub for fish season. Quiznos is offering their Lobster and Seafood Salad mix on a sub or in a salad. The Lobster and Seafood Salad is a mix of lobster and “seafood”, which I guess is Quizno’s safe way of declaring the mix isn’t 100% lobster. Upon further investigation, it turns out that the seafood mix is 51% lobster and 49% whitefish. The sub comes on your choice of bread with a lemon butter spread on it and is topped with lettuce or your choice of vegetables. I ordered this sub in the regular size for $7.69.

How Does it Taste?

The Lobster and Seafood Salad Sub reminds me of the seafood sub at Subway. Unfortunately the seafood sub is no longer served at Subway (R.I.P.), but it was one of my favorites while it was available. If I was to compare the seafood sub from Subway with the Lobster and Seafood Salad Sub from Quiznos, the Quiznos sub comes out slightly ahead. The Subway seafood sub is creamier, but consists primarily of imitation crab. The Quiznos Lobster and Seafood Salad Sub is a tad drier, but tastes more like “seafood”. Quizno’s put an ample amount of the Lobster and Seafood Salad on my regular sized sub – some of it actually fell out of the sides of the sandwich.

Quiznos Lobster and Seafood Salad Sub

The Lobster sub from Quiznos is one of the pricier options on the menu, possibly the most expensive on the menu. There is no doubt this sub contains lobster after taking a bite of this sandwich. The Lobster and Seafood sub tasted very nice. It didn’t really blow me away, but it certainly wasn’t terrible. The lobster in the mix was pretty tasty, and the buttery kind of spread they applied to the bread added a nice flavor to the whole sandwich.

I was tempted to ask for mayonnaise or ranch on this sub, but I wanted to try it in the chain’s recommended form. I did, however, have them add tomatoes. If I was to order this again, which I would consider, I would definitely ask for mayonnaise. It wasn’t terribly dry, but a little more moisture would have been welcomed. This sandwich was also very filling – the regular size sub without any chips was more than enough to fill me up.

Quiznos Lobster and Seafood Salad Sub

The Lobster and Seafood Salad Sub definitely helps to fill the void left behind by the departure of the Subway seafood sub. I actually prefer the taste of the Lobster and Seafood Salad. However, from a business standpoint it really has to be better to justify the price difference between the chains. I enjoyed the spread they applied to the bread and Quizno’s toasting method is far superior to Subway’s (Sorry Subway, but those little industrial Easy Bake ovens suck). I would recommend asking for some kind of dressing upon ordering this sub. Overall, if you like seafood I recommend giving the Lobster and Seafood Salad Sub a try.

*Alright, so the Subway Seafood Sensation sub isn’t completely gone, but it is no longer available in my area *super sadface*

  1. Good review. I just had the Lobster seafood sub from Quizno’s today for lunch and I have to say I was impressed. I asked the person making the sub what they would recommend and they said just lettuce and tomato with a wedge of lemon on the side.

I was a little skeptical about whether it was real lobster but after eating the sub I can definitely say it does have some lobster meat in it.

    • @RocketBladez: Thanks! Yes it definitely has a lobster taste to it, which admittedly surprised me. I can confirm that this sub does pretty well with just a few toppings like you mentioned.

  2. onions! and tomatoes,i like everything though.oil and vinegart on the roll first.and after as well s/p. it be 10 bucks but now…hmmm/gotta get one

  3. This was a memorable gastrointestinal experiment gone awry. I will never enter a QUIZNOS ever again. This borders on FALSE ADVERTISING and TERRIBLE TASTE! Too dry. Had to add mayo. Someone might file a class-action lawsuit on this one! Saw the ad and went to the website to see the menu. Coworker went to DULLES TOWNCENTER QUIZNOS (in Virginia) to order four Lobster Seafood Subs for me and my coworkers. They told him after the first two subs that they were out of lobster seafood….but then “found” some more. These posts lead me to believe: 1) perhaps different QUIZNOS are receiving different product from their suppliers, 2) every pro QUIZNOS post is coming from an employee or investor, 3) my tastebuds and my coworkers tastebuds all got together and somehow conspired to start suffering their very own group-mid-life-crisis (None of us ever tasted “lobster.”), or 4) QUIZNOS does not taste its own food. I think the item NEEDS TO BE REMOVED from the public marketplace. IMMEDIATELY!!

    • Had the Lobster Sub near Pier 66 Fort Lauderdale. Not only was it awesome and overflowing with delicious seafood we went back a 2nd day. Growing up in Nova Scotia we know our Lobster and that was a pretty good Sanwich.

    • So I saw their ads and I went in to try this so call “real lobster” . Now I feel so sick. I took a few bite and it smelled like trash. You know the lettuce smells like it was in a trash can for a day. There was no lobster meat but some shredded color substance that looks like imitation crab. I don’t know what they mixed in there but it gave me heartburn and now I’m in pain. I asked my husband who prepared the sandwich, to find out It was the lady whom i saw was mopping the floor and she wore the same gloves to prepared my sandwich. I didn’t go in but our car parked right in front of the store and I saw everthing. My husband was naive not to say anything. This is so HAZARDOUS to public health and I think all fast food places should implement safety and sanitary training to their employees. I pray that I will be ok for hours to come. I have my son type this because I’m in too much pain to type. I need to do this to let people be aware of eating fast foods where folks don’t take safety precaution into consideration, such as take off their gloves and wash their hands before putting another gloves on. Common sense, I would said. So please be careful when you eat at Quiznos. This will be our last .

  4. Really? More mayo!?
    Ranch dressing??!!
Come up to Boston for an asswhoopin”
