Review: Dairy Queen Chocolate Covered Pretzel Blizzard

Dairy Queen Chocolate Covered Pretzel Blizzard AprilDairy Queen has finally put out a Blizzard I want to review: The Chocolate Covered Pretzel With Peanut Butter Blizzard. Dairy Queen’s last two Blizzards of the Month were pretty boring. February was the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Blizzard, and March was the Mint Oreo Blizzard. The Chocolate Covered Pretzel with Peanut Butter Blizzard features chocolate covered pretzel bits, peanut butter, and choco chunks blended into DQ soft serve. I picked up a medium-sized Blizzard for $3.49.

How Does it Taste?

The Chocolate Covered Pretzel Blizzard features these little bits of chocolate covered pretzel. The chocolate covered pretzel pieces tasted exactly like the kind you would buy at the store – they were salty and sweet. The salty and sweet flavors blended together very nicely with the other sweet flavors and coldness of the Blizzard.

Dairy Queen isn’t lying when they say this is a peanut butter Blizzard. The majority of this Blizzard tasted like cold peanut butter. The flavor of the peanut butter made the treat much more delicious than if they stuck with plain ol’ vanilla.

As always, the chocolate chunks don’t do much for me other than get in the way. As a matter of fact, they actually made it difficult to pick out where the chocolate covered pretzel pieces were due to the similar size and color of both.

I quite enjoyed the texture of the Blizzard. The pretzels were fairly crunchy so it kept the whole Blizzard eating experience an active one. My teeth are fairly sensitive so it was pretty damn cold at times, but it was still fun to eat.

Overview

The Chocolate Covered Pretzel With Peanut Butter Blizzard is a great salty and sweet treat that will satisfy peanut butter and chocolate lovers alike. I enjoyed the Blizzard as a whole: the strong peanut butter flavor and the crunchy chocolate covered pretzels made for a yummy combination. I’d recommend picking this one up before it’s gone.

The Score
