Review: Burger King Chunky Oreo Cookie

As part of Burger King’s Summer Menu, Burger King has added a Chunky Oreo Cookie to their menu. The Chunky Oreo Cookie is a “soft, warm and buttery cookie, made with OREO® pieces. Baked fresh daily”. I purchased the new cookies (an order contains two cookies) for a measly $1.

How Does It Taste?

Burger King’s Chunky Oreo Cookie immediately disappointed me with its lack of warmth. I was promised warm cookies but they were room temperature. I purchased my cookies around 7pm, so perhaps the cookies are warmer more towards peak business hours, but I cannot deny the fact that the cookies weren’t warm.

And it seems that as a result of this lack of warmth, the cookies were a tad hard. I was promised soft cookies, dammit! Why Burger King, why do you lie to me?

When it comes to the taste of the cookies, they tasted mostly like sugar cookies. I could not detect any flavor of Oreos in these whatsoever. I tried my hardest, but they simply taste like buttery sugar cookies. This wasn’t terribly surprising though, since Oreos are mostly made of sugar anyways.

The Chunky Oreo Cookies weren’t terrible, but they were a big disappointment. All of the buzz words used to advertise this cookie failed to hold truth when it came to the actual cookies I was served. The saving grace for this treat is that it was only $1. For $1 they weren’t the worst cookies I’ve ever had, but they definitely weren’t warm and soft oreo cookies.

Overview

Burger King’s Chunky Oreo Cookies are neither warm, nor soft. They didn’t taste like Oreos at all, and were a bit harder than I would have liked. They tasted basically like sugar cookies. If these cookies weren’t only $1 I would be a lot more ticked off. I ordered these later in the evening, so they could be better earlier in the day, although I’m sure the taste would remain unchanged.

The Score

Taste: 4.5/10
Presentation: 6/10

Pros: Something sweet at the end of a meal, only $1 for two cookies
Cons: Doesn’t taste like Oreos, not warm at all, were a little harder than I would have liked

  1. What do you expect from a fast food outlet. They buy their stuff in bulk sizes, so naturally there’s not taste to their product.
